Current Work

Currently, Dr. Rios serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hispanic Medical Association, representing Hispanic physicians in the United States, and as Chief Executive Officer of the Hispanic-Serving Health Professions Schools, Inc. The mission of both organizations is to improve the health care of Hispanics across the nation.

Work Relevant to Hablamos Juntos

Dr. Rios serves on the Board of Directors for the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, the Women's Policy Inc., Institute for Diversity in Health Management, and the Steering Committee for National Conference on Cultural Diverse Populations. She is also Co-Chair for the Hispanic Health Coalition.

Dr. Rios has lectured and published articles and has received several awards on health policy, including awards from the Department of Health and Human Services, Hispanic Congressmen, and California Hispanic organizations and policymakers.
