Proficiency (LEP)
SUMMARY: Pursuant
to Executive Order 13166, The Department of Health and
Human Services (HHS) has published
its revised Guidance to Federal Financial
Assistance Recipients Regarding Title VI
Prohibition Against National Origin
Discrimination Affecting Limited
English Proficient Persons ("Revised
HHS LEP Guidance"). HHS is seeking
comment on the revised HHS LEP
Guidance for a 120-day period ending
on January 6, 2004.
DATES: This
Guidance is effective immediately. Comments must be
submitted on or before January 6, 2004.
HHS will review all comments and will
determine if modifications to the
Guidance are necessary. This Guidance
supplants existing guidance on the same
subject originally published at 65 FR
52762 (August 30, 2000).
