The MedVerse, three-educational partners
will be meeting in Greenville, SC, after the instructors
return from the Health Care Interpreter Instructor Training
Institute in Oakland to discuss the collaborative effort
among the three colleges. It has already been proposed
that the site for the course will take place at the University
Center in Greenville, located on the campus of Greenville
Technical College. The University Center offers various
programs by several colleges from South Carolina. This
existing collaboration offers students the advantage of
a local campus plus credit reciprocity among its educational
members. Part of the MedVerse educational collaboration
is to bring to the discussion table the healthcare institutions
in the area in order to establish medical-educational
partnerships where the healthcare institutions will have
a place to send their employees for training. Once the
medical interpretation program is designed, MedVerse will
issue a Press Release both in English and Spanish to alert
the media of the new courses. MedVerse will use the existing
relationship between the educational institutions and
the high schools in the area to further diffuse the medical
interpretation program.
