M.P.H. Concentration
in Health Interpreting in Texas UNTHSC School of Public
Health:
Forty percent of the Latino
population in Tarrant County (Texas) are recent immigrants
hailing from more than 20 countries. Of these, 78% are predominately
Spanish speaking. Health Care providers in Tarrant County
are struggling to provide effective services to the growing
Latino Spanish-speaking community. In response, the University
of North Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health
(UNTHSC SPH) is launching a new M.P.H. concentration to
train and educate leaders in the field of health interpreting
and health applied linguistics. Their Hablamos Juntos sponsored
concentration is currently seeking highly qualified, bilingual
students. Program
